Hair signifies the relationship between a woman and society. We classify and are classified into groups through our hair whilst all the time being taught, influenced or coerced into adopting certain prescribed styles.

This project represent the way ideologies can exert real power over women through certain prescriptions on hair. We are nothing but our appearances. Our hair colour and style can indicate a whole range of cultural identities.

It is more than an extension of female sexuality having been composed and constructed by the societies in which we live. It is something we must deal with everyday and something which acts as a metaphor for our bodies.
